Speaker - Our next meeting will feature our very own Penny Boese and Cindy Stohn presenting tips on submitting quilts to be long armed.  Both of these fabulous quilters are award winning and do long arm quilting everyday.

October 20th, 2020 Meeting

Join us for our next ZOOM meeting on October 20th featuring, Kate Collearn seamslikeadream.com.

Kate started seams like a dream quilt designs in 2003. In 2012 she and her husband moved from Connecticut to Colorado and she decided to take a break from 30 years of nursing.

From day 1 the goal was to help people make a quilt. And  to have fun. To Kate, quilting is about creating, about learning, and having fun and about community.

Her lecture will be on Modern Traditionalism. The designs are fun, fresh, and a mix of traditional elements with a modern twist. 

Meeting time 7-9.  Join early and see what our block of the week club is finishing.

Our next meeting  on 9/1 will feature a show and tell and then a fun game of QUILTO.

QUILTO is like BINGO.  Everyone will need a card and we will be calling out numbers and giving prizes.

We have also started a new block of the week club.  This club will meet weekly for 30min to share what blocks they have created.

Meeting on 8/4/2020

Our next meeting feature Daria Bickham and ergonomics.

Daria Bickham, ATC/L  is a native to Arizona. She went to Grand Canyon University where she got a degree in Athletic Training. During her career she has worked in both the collegiate and industrial setting. Daria's favorite part about her job is getting to work one on one with her patients to help diagnose and treat whatever is bothering them. In 2020, she has begun to develop expert skills in ergonomics and is excited to share and give tips for Nimbles Thimbles!

Our guest speaker will be Heidi Pridemore.

Heidi will share tips, tricks and tools she uses every day in The Whimsical Workshop Studio. She will cover how to get the most out of your equipment, shortcuts to save time and tips on cutting, construction and finishing your projects. President challenge for 2020-2021

The challenge for this year is to try something new to you.

Try a new pattern, a new fabric, a new tool, a new technique, take a new class, sew with a new friend, visit a new store even online, read a new blog, or organize a new way.

Come to a meeting and share what you tried new and if you liked it or even if you didn't.

I will write down your name and when we get together again in person I have a prize for you.

July 7th Meeting - PUP program

We are having our annual PUP (Poor Unfinished Project) program. For those of you unfamiliar with our PUPS challenge, we ask members who wish to participate to choose three unfinished projects. The projects are presented to members. You explain your projects – how large they will be, how far you are toward completion, how long you’ve had the project, any other pertinent information you wish to share. Then, members vote to decide which they want you to complete. You have the entire year to complete the project, and if you finish, your name is entered in a drawing for prizes!

UPDATE ON MEETING STATUS AND EVENTS

Hey all you quilters,

Just a quick update to keep you informed of what is happening with Nimble Thimbles.

ZOOM meetings: We have been meeting on zoom for the past month. If you are a member you should be receiving the links for the meeting. We have has as many as 48 people attend!! If you have not received a link please email nimblethimbles@gmail.com for the information.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 16th at 7:00p.m.

Membership: Right now is the time to renew or become a new member of Nimble Thimbles. The registrations form is available on the Facebook page under files and should have been emailed to you as well.

Facebook: We are active on the facebook page: Nimble Thimbles, A chaper of the Arizona Quilters Guild. We would love to have you!!

When will we resume our regular face to face meeting?
We are expecting to ZOOM through July for sure and maybe even August. We are monitoring the situation. In the mean time please join our ZOOM meetings. We are having so much fun!

Regular chapter meeting March 3, 2020 7-9pm Holy Trinity Luthern Church, Chandler

We have Louise Haley bringing a trunk show to us. Louise has been quilting over 40 years with about half of those long-arming as well. Louise teaches beginning and intermediate classes at Bolts N More. She takes a positive approach to teaching beginning quilters, encouraging their work to keep their interest in quilting. Louise’s quilting is primarily modern, though she has quilted with reproduction fabrics. Come Tuesday and see a fantastic trunk show with Louise!

Plus, community will share any finished quilts we have. Bring your show and tell. Many quilters from Nimble Thimbles won ribbons at the Tucson show and the AQG show. If you won please bring your quilt to show!! We are so proud of all our talented quilters.

Spring Quilt camp

Debbie will have the sign up for Spring Quilt Camp at the January 21st regular meeting. The dates are March 26-29th. Spots are limited!
