Happy New Year 2024 from our President Heather Nothum to all Nimble Thimbles Members!

Come and join us Tuesday night 1/16/2024, in person, to see Ray Steeves from 3 Dudes Quilting presenting “Fun with Improv.” Learn new techniques and fun ways to work with pre-cut strip sets. (See Ray Steeves Bio attached to the recent email).

 Please sign up for refreshments using the Sign-Up Genius or contact Mary Platt at the number listed in the recent email and she will sign you up. 

We also will be having the Free Table - please be sure to take your items home that weren’t taken by the end of the night.

For Show and Tell, bring your jelly roll quilts, strip quilting and the sweatshirt jackets from our last meeting.

 Penny Boese will give updates to the Gee’s Bend Challenge and Community Service.

 Upcoming Events:

Gina Perkes from The Copper Needle quilt store in Payson will present “How Do I Quilt This” in person on 2/6/2024.

 We are looking for new leadership for next year (beginning in July) 2024-2025. Positions available are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Programs and Membership.  If you are interested, it's a great opportunity to join the Nimble Thimble’s Team. The election will be held in April or May 2024.

President Challenge: pick a purchase from a vacation, or in your travels and make it! Every time you finished an item, bring for Show and Tell and receive a ticket. More projects completed, more tickets received for the drawing in March and June. 

Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival January 25 to 27, 2024 at the State Fairgrounds. Buy tickets on AQG website for $8.00. 

AQG received 350 quilts for the Quilt Show in Mesa “Hip to be Square.”  Please sign up to volunteer at the show. 

 TGIF schedule: sewing at downtown Chandler Library from 11-3pm, The Makery Room. Every 2nd & 4th Friday: 1/26, February 2/9 and 2/23 March 3rd and 3/22/24. Continue to 8/24/24. See Nimble Thimble FB page for details.  (This is not an AQG sponsored event).

 Sweet Pz's Sew at 3536 E Tremaine Ave, Gilbert, AZ 85234 is the 2nd Saturday of every month through December 2024. 9:30-4:00pm, $10.00. (This is a not an AQG sponsored event).
