Additionally at the November 19 meeting, we will be having a Great Pumpkin celebration: Everyone is invited to bring his or her favorite pumpkin creation (one we can eat--not an artfully carved jack-o-lantern) and we will have a pumpkin patch feast! As an added bonus, if each quilter who is bringing something yummy would email the recipe to Mary the week before, let's say the deadline is Thursday, Nov. 14, she will put together a copy of all of the recipes for everyone to take home. Please write RECIPE in the subject line to make it easy for her to recognize.

We all enjoyed the presentations at Nimble Thimbles Quilter's University. I tried using a Haiku Deck presentation along with my actual paper piecing samples. I thought some of you might like to be able to review it again. Just click on the center of the picture to advance through the slides. Haiku Deck is new to me and so I'm learning different ways to use it.

You can use as many shades as you want of your favorite color. The project can be any size you want and can be an item such as a bag or pot holder. It just needs to be finished! The challenge items are due at the Christmas party.

Happy New Year!
Every new year brings with it it's own expectations, opportunities, limitations and change. Some doors open, others close. Quilters are a hardy breed. We've known how to work within limitations, for that is where quilting has come from. Some call it frugality, or thriftiness. I prefer 'artistic challenge'.
This year, both our Chapter and AQG will offering wonderful opportunities for learning, creating and showing quilts. Be sure to check the AQG website and this blog for upcoming opportunities. Kathy Krieg and Becky Brown are putting a banner year of activities together, so let's enjoy their hard work, along with ours and have indeed, a happy new year.
your President,
Joanne Reiter
