The Community Service Team is excited to host the December social
on Dec 10, 7-9 pm at the church! Come and play some quilty games with us, win
prizes and enjoy each other's company. We're asking everyone to bring a treat
to share... Savory or Sweet, whatever you desire.
Upcoming Meetings:
1.) Nov. 19th, In-Person meeting. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM.
Jennifer from Quilter's Oasis will treat us to what's new and happening at her
shop. We need 2 or 3 people to cover refreshments. Please let Joanne Reiter know if you
are bringing anything, so we can provide napkins, plates and forks. If you need
a theme, think Maple.
2.) Dec. 10th, In-Person meeting. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM.
Community Service Fun Night. Fun, games prizes! Please bring a treat to share.
Workshop:
Nov. 9th, Saturday, via Zoom, Brita Nelson Disappearing
Blocks Workshop. Starts at 8:45 AM and concludes at 3:15 PM with half hour
lunch break. Have your blocks prepped up to step #1 and then stop. Brita will
guide you the rest of the way during the workshop. Zoom link will be sent via
email to paid attendees only. If you saw the Zoom lecture and still want to

Cost is $10 payable to Pam, shop owner.
2.) Nov. 25th, Monday, 35th Ave Sew & Vac, 4939 W Ray
Rd, Chandler AZ 85226. Cost is $5 payable to shop.
3.) Nov. 29th, Friday, Sweet Pz's Quilt Designs, 3536 E
Tremaine Ave, Gilbert AZ 85234. It's a Bonnie Hunter Kick-Off! Bring your sewing
machine and come join a fun group for sewing. You need not be doing anything
Bonnie Hunter to come and enjoy the day. Bring whichever quilting project you
wish to work on. Cost is $10 payable to Pam, shop owner.
This upcoming Tuesday evening (11/5/24) will be a Zoom meeting. Our guest lecturer will be Brita Nelson of The Questioning Quilter, who will be guiding us through a trunk show of her quilts showing the evolution of her disappearing blocks. Our meeting will start at 6:00 pm as Brita resides in Pennsylvania. So click on the Zoom link in the recent email and please join us for an enjoyable evening of quilts.

November 5th - Zoom Meeting. Due to different time zones, this meeting starts at 6:00 PM promptly. Brita Nelson of the Questioning Quilter will be giving a 1-hour Zoom lecture on her Quilts and development of her disappearing blocks. An email with the Zoom link will be sent out to the membership closer to the meeting.
November 19th - In-Person Meeting (not a Zoom as previously announced). Come early to help set up at 6:30 PM. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM promptly. Jennifer, the owner of A Quilter's Oasis will be bringing her shop to us. Come find out what's new, what's hot and the new classes. And enjoy having a shop come to you. Refreshment theme: Apple and Pumpkin.
December 10th - In-Person Meeting. Arrive early at 6:30 and help set up. the Fun begins at 7:00 PM. Community Service Sponsored Fun Night! Yes, that date is correct: December 10th. It's not our usual night, but it's ours. Community Service will be hosting an evening of fun games and prizes. Please bring refreshments of your choice.
Nimble Thimbles In-Person Meeting 10/15/24

Our Tuesday, October 15th meeting is an In-Person meeting. Program for the evening is Quilter's University! Come early and help set up or join us at 7:00 PM for an evening of fun and learning. Our 3 Professors will be teaching you about Accucutter, Triangles on a Roll and Flying Geese the GE Ruler way. So bring your notebooks and pencils for a constructive evening. Refreshments theme is more Apple Festival. If you are planning on bringing refreshments, please let jmreiter@frontier.com know so she can pass your name onto Mary Platt.
Tuesday, October 15th is also the last day to enter your quilt into the AQG Quilt Show. If you are planning to enter, please get your entry ready. For more information, please go to the AZ Quilter's Guild website and download/print out needed documents.
Shop Hop is now hopping in the Valley! Go to any participating shop and purchase a passport, and then got your 'shop on' and have fun through October 19th. There are 9 participating shops and business is good. It's a great way to meet the shops that support us and our craft.
The Sew-In that was scheduled for Sweet Pz's
Quilt Designs this past Saturday, Oct 12th was cancelled and moved to October
26th. The good news is that there will be no charge for attending this Sew-In.
Mark your calendars to plan ahead. Upcoming meetings for the rest of the 2024 year are as follows;
October 15th - In-Person Meeting. Quilter's University! Our own Heather Nothum will demonstrate Triangles on a Roll, Debbie Kattelman will demonstrate GE Flying Geese and Lori from 35th will demonstrate Accucutter. Plan to arrive promptly and bring your notebooks. Refreshment theme: More Apple Harvest.

E-doors open at 5:00 PM and close at 9 PM. Announcements will be made at 7:00
PM. Come on in when you can. This is our Fat quarter Challenge Zoom Sew-In, so
get your chosen fat quarter and any other fabrics that you wish to add to it.
There is NO LIMIT
to the number of fabrics that you can add. Your project may also be a project
that you, or someone else has started, and that you are finishing. The only
requirement is that you use one fat quarter of fabric of your choice. Rules are
very relaxed, but we want you to finish your project by our September 3rd
in-person meeting. So pick out your fabric, your pattern (if needed) and get
your fabric cut. Click on the link that is in the recent email and join the meeting and start sewing!

and have ice cream sandwiches! We are also doing the drawing for those
that participated in the Souvenir Stash Busting Challenge. Bring your
souvenir project in (no matter what stage it is in) for a chance to win a
prize.

is my last meeting as President of Nimble Thimbles. I have had an amazing
year. As the year comes to a close, this meeting is a celebration of our
great year, and the outgoing leadership team.

Please note that Quilto has been moved to May 21, 2024 meeting. The meeting will be started early at 6:45pm to allow for voting for the 2024-2025 leadership and approval of the 2024-2025 budget. Quilto will follow. An email will be sent to the membership with the full agenda for the meeting.
Also - the meetings on the first and third Tuesdays in June have been canceled. The church site we have our meetings at has other activities scheduled on those dates.

night to see all the beautiful treasures from her family history.

Those who participated in the “Tribute to Gee’s Bend Quilters,”
remember to bring your Quilt Show entries to show to membership! If you
want Penny Boese to enter your quilt, remember to bring your claim check and
bag with your entry tag attached. Also, make sure your entry tag is attached to
the bottom left of your quilt as you look at it from the back. No sleeve is
required. If you have questions, contact Penny Boese.

We are looking for new leadership for next year (beginning
in July) 2024-2025. Positions available are President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer, Programs and Membership. If you are interested,
it's a great opportunity to join the Nimble Thimble’s Team. The election will
be held in April or May 2024.
President Challenge: pick a purchase from a vacation, or in your travels and make it!
Every time you finish an item, bring for Show and Tell and receive a ticket.
The more projects you complete, the more tickets you’ll receive for the drawing
at the last month’s meetings in March and June.
AQG received 350 quilts for the Quilt Show in Mesa “Hip to be Square.”
Please sign up to volunteer at the show.

“Madonna's Favorite Things” Madonna is the owner of Mad B’s quilt store
in Mesa. She has beautiful fabrics, classes and long arm services. Madonna has
a FB live show every Tuesday presenting new techniques and tools every week.
Come and welcome Madonna this Tuesday! Products will be available to
purchase.
