Meeting on April 2nd
Do you like to play games and win prizes? This meeting is all about fun and prizes.
Quilto is like Bingo with quilt words and quilt prizes.
You don't need to bring anything but your winning spirit and expectation to have fun.
Block of the month
The block for March is Baby Chick (page 10) or Mama Hen (page 42).
Bring your finished block for show and tell.
Our block of the month is from the book Vintage Farm Girl.
Board positions
We are already looking for volunteers for next years board.
The positions for programs and ways and means still need a candidate.
Programs - Scheduling guest speakers for meetings. There is a budget and several of the meetings have annual programs. This could work best for a team to schedule together.
Ways and Means - This is our fundraising person. This includes the small quilt auction and other fundraising options such as the store, raffle baskets, and trash to treasures auction.
Next Meeting on April 16th
The next meeting we will be hosting Swan Sheridan from Swan Amity Studios.
She was suggested by our own Merci who saw her speak in California.

The quilt show sponsored by AQG is March 21-23 at the Mesa Convention Center, 201 North Center Street, Mesa. The cost for members is $5.00 and some of our Nimble Thimbles members have submitted quilts. Thursday, March 21 - 5:00 to 8:30. Friday, March 22 - 9:00 to 5:00. Saturday, March 23 - 9:00 - 4:00. There are vendors, speakers and auction items.

The spring camp is April 5-9 at Emmanuel Pines in Prescott. The cost is $100.00 for two nights and 5 meals plus a big sewing room to quilt and connect with friends. Pay in full and you get to pick your cabin and sewing area. See Debbie to sign up.

Meeting on February 5th -
For our next meeting, we are happy to bring to our group L&A quilting. These wonderful ladies will be doing a trunk show on their red & green quilts. Our own Kathy O'Brien suggested this group saying it was the most memorable trunk show she has seen.
Presidents challenge -
Did you take a challenge bag? Have you opened the bag since the meeting? For those who have already completed the challenge, bring them back. If you want another one or want in on the fun, there are more bags available.

Happy New Year.
I hope your new year is going well. At the beginning of each year, I make a list of all of my projects that are in process and post them in my craft room. Then during the year as I get projects done, I get the satisfaction of checking off the list. Last year, I got 23 projects done. My list for 2019 has 24 projects on it. It just seems that I keep finding more things I want to try and do.
I have missed seeing everyone and look forward to our first meeting of January to catch up. I am sure we will have a big show and tell time.

Our own member, Kathy Kreig, is going to give us a trunk show about all of the quilt challenges she does during the year. This will be a great opportunity to get inspired to join in.

December 4th - Holiday party
There are no scheduled meetings for December. Our holiday party is at Mary's house and she has planned a wonderful night with a vocal concert by a group that brings holiday joy. Event starts at 6:00, program at 7:00 and dessert at 8:00.
In addition, we will continue to collect our items for My Sister's Place. Any paper products - paper towels, toilet paper, napkins and even diapers. This is a domestic violence shelter for women in Chandler. They have 14 rooms and house up to 14 women and their children at any time. Each family only stays 4 months and they get help locating a new place to live.

Success - Making a difference with donations
The donations and quilts we have made were donated to Southwest Network. The Phoenix chapter is having a holiday boutique the first part of December to allow people they help to come in and pick out something they need for the holidays. They were so grateful for our truck of donations. This will make a such a difference for people.

Events through the rest of the year:
November 6th - NO regular meeting
Our meeting location is also used for voting and we are unable to have a regular meeting.
We had discussed meeting at Bernina Connection and they were putting together a presentation for us on thread and needles but at the last meeting only a handful of members indicated they would go so we have cancelled that program and will ask them to come next year.
Our president has arranged a social sew in at the Chandler Police Station Community Room from 5-9:30. So go and vote and then join up for some talking and time working on projects.
November 20th - EQ7
We have an exciting program from an AQG traveling teacher, Joanne Rice, about EQ7. This is a software program that allows you to design quilts before cutting the fabric. It came highly recommended from several members.
December 4th - Holiday party

Joanne had created wonderful boxes for a non-profit that helps homeless with medical, locating jobs, and even finding placed to live. These boxes provided a start up kit for someone moving into a new location including a plate, silverware, cup, towel, toilet items, and more. These were a big hit and I would like to create more from the donations I have been getting from everyone. Please let me know if you have access to paper boxes that we could use to create these start up kits - Debbie
